Matt and Collette
Tweet
From the moment I met Matt and Collette, I knew they were a sweet couple and couldn't wait to photograph their wedding.
They told me about their wedding, bright colours, a picnic and comic book theming, fantastic! I'd visited Papplewick Pumping station in Nottingham before so I knew it was a lovely venue with fantastic surrounding gardens. They had a bit of a rough time in the lead up to the wedding but it was a small and intimate affair with a wonderful atmosphere.
On one of our pre-wedding meetings, Collette mentioned to me in conversation that they would love a pig as a pet so on mhy travels I bought them a stuffed toy piggy and put a ribbon around it. Needless to say it featured in many of the photographs!

Steve, Jess and Klaus
Tweet
I've worked with Jess a number of times in a fashion context so it was lovely to hear from her and her fiancé Steve for their “Save the Date” engagement images.
They wanted to include Klaus, their miniature Schnauzer in the photos and got him a little bowtie and made a sign.
Wollaton Hall in Nottingham is always a great background for images, its local and very recognisable as a Nottingham landmark.
It was a blustery day so there were ears flapping everywhere but Klaus was fantastically behaved as of course was Steve and Jess.

Flynn
Tweet
Recently I had the great pleasure of a second photo shoot with the gorgeous little Flynn and his mum Charlotte.
It's amazing to see how much he's grown, he's such a little character! You can see the images from his first shoot in my gallery.
T-shirt and Dribble Bibs by Mini Geek Boutique. The T-shirt even says Flynn in Galifrean!

Ben and Katie - Wollaton Hall
Tweet
It's been a busy summer with my own bookings and then adding to that assisting Tim, it's been like a whirlwind!
This next wedding I was really excited about, I've taken a booking for the same venue in October so I was anxious to see how it worked for weddings. It is of course, the famous Nottingham landmark, Wollaton Hall.
The Hall was used in the filming of Batman, The Dark Knight as the infamous Wayne Manor so it attracts a lot of attention since the release of the film.
Even the wedding of Ben and Katie included touches that reflected the venue's connection to Batman. Ben had Batman socks, a money clip (that looked like a Baterang!) and a matching tie clip, which meant I obviously had to photograph them!
The whole wedding was colour themed yellow and blue too, the blue of the bridesmaid dresses was stunning.
The Hall is a beautiful backdrop for a wedding, the group photographs backed with the grand building and the perfectly tended gardens for the Bride and Groom portraits. As part of the day, it is standard for the Bride, Groom and photographer to be taken up to the roof for photographs. Such a beautiful view.
The Hall and Gardens are still open to the public while the photographs are being taken so I expected people and maybe the odd dog wandering around but what I did not expect was a man taking his parrot for a walk! It did keep the guests entertained for a while.
While the room was being turned around for the meal, drinks and canapés were served in the Orangery, a gorgeous glasshouse. I definitely want to photograph a fashion shoot in there when the flowers are all in bloom.
We were lucky enough to have perfect timing and view of the sunset that evening which put a great end to the day. I can't wait to be back there and photograph Zoe and Justin's wedding in October.
