Wedding Inspiration

Being a wedding photographer gets quite hectic, so any time that I have to collaborate with my amazing friends who are also within the industry is a great joy!
In April, myself, Ms Moo Make-up, Lucille's Locks and Booboo Kitty Couture got together to photograph a stylised wedding shoot along with some work by the wonderful GGs Pinup Couture. We had some amazing plans including woodland and Aislinn's horse but, unfortunately, the weather was not on our side so we had to abandon the location in favur of shooting in the studio.
Even though we didn't manage to carry out our full vision, I think we got some great images to show off our collective talents and why we always recommend each other to clients. We call ourselves the "Dream Team" because we not only work well together but our seperate businesses all come together to create a beautiful outcome.

Happy Halloween!

One thing that we've come to love and expect from Miss Fortune is a great Halloweeen themed range and shoot.
Miss Fortune is my longest running and favourite client. Her designs are inspired by Pin-up, rockabilly and psychobillly and worn by savvy shoppers and celebrities alike! Unlike many other brands of a similar style, all of Miss Fortune's clothing is manufactured in the UK to the highest quality. Laura prides herself on finding new and innovative ways to interpret the scene and make great fitting items. While there are beautiful dresses and items to make you feel like a million dollars at that special event, there are wardrobe staples like jumpers, cardigans and skirts so you can dress up every day.
I loved shooting this seasons designs, we trooped down to the graveyard and uncharacteristically the sun was shining. We always get some odd looks from passers-by and dog walkers!

Sugar and Vice - The Witching Hour

I love working with Sugar and Vice!
I found them, like many, on instagram and was instantly drawn to their amazing and original designs. When they put out a call for a product photographer I obviously jumped at the chance. Over time I have seen the most gorgeous jewellery come through the studio, wanting to keep every piece!
Most recently, I shot not only the product photographs for their newest collection, “The Witching Hour”, but I was also hired to shoot promotional images with a model.
As the lovely Frankii Wilde was visiting at the time I couldn't resist using her in the images. The idea was a modern twist on a witch, taking influences from American Horror Story (mainly the huge hat!).
Such a simple set up, white wall, kick ass model and flash gun.
Can't wait to work on the next collection, I'm sure you'll love it as soon as you see it too! Check out their site and I guarantee you'll want to spend with them.

David and Jessica - Colwick Hall
Tweet
Another weekend, another wedding assisting Tim Miles-Hayler. This time it was the wedding of David and Jessica at Colwick Hall Hotel.
As usual, I was tasked with photographing the Groom and Groomsmen getting ready. David, bless him, was visibly nervous. After checking in with Tim, I joked with David that Jessica's dress hadn't arrived but withdrew almost instantly seeing the look of fear on his face!
I felt very comfortable once we arrived at Colwick Hall, having shot the wedding of James and Lisa there the year before, I knew my way round. It's a beautiful venue with a large, light and bright ceremony room and pretty gardens.
Tim will often rib me for using a Canon camera but as mine is newer than his Nikon the shutter is quieter so I usually take front of house during the ceremony. From this angle I got the perfect shot of David as he saw the stunning Jessica for the first time.
It was a gorgeous day so we took full advantage to shoot the group photographs and Bride and Groom portraits outside in the gardens. Tim had also shot David's brother's wedding there previously, so there was a portrait that needed to be done by the large tree in the garden as a tradition set by his parents before them.
All in all, a lovely, relaxed and beautiful day.

Trav and El - Spring in Leicester
Tweet
I'd been looking forward to photographing the wedding of El and Trav for a long time. These guys are great together, I even had a little cry when they said their vows!
Great friends and an amazingly fun wedding. Odes to Elvis, Stone Roses and the "Madchester" scene with hints of leopard print, a pink cadillac and a cheese cake!
Enjoy!
