I love working for small businesses!
Nicki's business, The Waxed Button, needed some promotional photographs and I was more than happy to oblige. Her items are so cute and the candles smelled so wonderful, perfect little gifts.

Reader I married him - Victoria and Jonathan
Tweet
Well this one has been a long time coming hasn't it?!
Part of the problem of why it takes me so long to blog about my wonderful clients is that I struggle so much to cut down the selection of images to share with you all. This wedding being absolutely no exception.
I absolutely loved Vic and Jonathan's wedding, the smiles and laughter seemed endless, the styling was GORGEOUS and the entire day just filled everyone's hearts with love. While the day was essentially small and intimate, it took in a lot of the surroundings of London and the people there. While photographing Jonathan getting ready, a taxi full of guests passed and hollered out of the window, the poor driver! When photographing Vic arriving at Islington Town Hall, we took a quick walk and the images seem just quintessentially "British" featuring a red phone box and the beautiful architecture. And of course when we left the ceremony, there was the big red London bus where we were all pressed up against the windows because Bill Oddie was attending the wedding after! The bus dropped us off at one end of the park in Stoke Newington which we all trooped through, the guests drinking prosecco, waving to those enjoying the park and petting dogs along the way.
The reception was in the Londsborough pub which was essentially their local. The dressing was fabulous, bunting and paper lanterns everywhere. We popped out the front of the pub to grab some shots of the bride and bridesmaids and got chatting on to a passerby on her way to a birthday party. At this point, I'm not entirely sure how, suddenly all of the bridal party are hula hooping with the hoops the passer by just happened to be carrying!
It's little things like this that you remember and will always bring a smile to your face and that's something to rememeber this Valentine's Day. The memories that you make always last the longest. Victoria and Jonathan are now expecting a baby, all of the love in the world to their little family!

Weddings are a circus - Jeff and Katie
Tweet
I've held off on blogging this wedding for a while now but finally I can share with you Jeff and Katie's wedding!
We were waiting for it to be published on the famous Rock and Roll Bride blog, you can read more here.
Even though Katie Abey is based just outside of Nottingham, I was initially introduced to her work through Sugar and Vice who collaborated with her on an amazing collection based on her hand drawn characters.
Since then, we've met up, worked together and chatted lots and I've photographed most of the items she sells through her etsy store. Through this I met her fiance Jeff and I was over the moon when they hired me to photograph their wedding. I knew straight away that this was to be no ordinary wedding!
Jeff and Katie are both bright and colourful, and some of the most creative people I know. The wedding was held at Jeff's family home, which they had licenced for marriage specifically for their wedding. Wingfield Hall is beautiful with amazing grounds and views, but where would they have the reception? In a multi coloured circus tent of course!
Arriving on the big day, I could not help but run around and photograph all of the amazing details of the wedding right down to the very last pinwheel. It was one of the most fun wedding days that I have ever been part of, definitely not a day for black and white images. There is far too much to list so I'll shut up now and let the photographs do the talking!

Jez and Chole
Tweet
Jez and Chloe were referred to me through Lucille's Locks, Lucille and Chloe were childhood friends and Lucille was also one of the bridesmaids!
Unlike most of the weddings I cover, Chloe wanted my coverage of the day to start at the church, so I met Jez and his best man at St Michael's in Breaston, Derbyshire before the guests started to arrive. It was a great opportunity to get some shots of Jez and the wonderful styling of the wedding party. It was a country style theme with beautiful wild flowers with hessian and tweed.
Chloe arrived in a beautiful vintage convertible, driven by her dad who then walked her down the aisle. The ceremony was super sweet and then we popped into the church grounds for group photographs and couple portraits.
Chloe and Jez then drove away in a beautiful camper van to meet us all at Donnington Park Farmhouse Hotel where we shot more photographs of the bridal party and the newly-weds before the wedding guests all sat down for the wedding breakfast.
I adore the styling of this wedding, and the combination of that with the brickwork and fields at Donnington Park Farmhouse Hotel made for some fabulous images.

James and Leigh
Tweet
Often, when assisting Tim, his wedding clients are more likely to have traditional style weddings but in the case of James and Leigh, their style more closely matched those of my clients.
When I saw their sign saying “Geek and Half-Pint”, I knew it would be a wedding where I was in my element.
As usual, while Tim attended to the bride getting ready, I was tasked with capturing the images of the groom getting ready.
We arrived at Donnington Park Farmhouse Hotel in Derbyshire, a venue I have shot at so many times now they're used to seeing my face, and I headed up to spend some time with James as he had one of the rooms on site.
After a little while with James, a laugh and joke on while moving furniture around to get the best shot, I headed back to meet Tim and photograph the guests arriving.
As a change of pace, Tim decided to take the front of the ceremony while I shot from the back of the hall. Usually, I take point during the ceremony as my camera has a quieter shutter than Tim's although he will still remind me at every opportunity that his Nikon is better than my Canon...
After the ceremony, and dodging the light showers we managed to get the group photos and my favourite part, the confetti throwing.
James, Leigh, Tim and I all went for a wander to get the couple portraits, and as the rapeseed was out in full force, it made a beautiful yellow background for the images.
After dinner, the speeches were hilarious and everyone was smiling and laughing. I captured one of my favourite images of the year, James and Leigh laughing together, it just encapsulated the day perfectly.

Matt and Collette
Tweet
From the moment I met Matt and Collette, I knew they were a sweet couple and couldn't wait to photograph their wedding.
They told me about their wedding, bright colours, a picnic and comic book theming, fantastic! I'd visited Papplewick Pumping station in Nottingham before so I knew it was a lovely venue with fantastic surrounding gardens. They had a bit of a rough time in the lead up to the wedding but it was a small and intimate affair with a wonderful atmosphere.
On one of our pre-wedding meetings, Collette mentioned to me in conversation that they would love a pig as a pet so on mhy travels I bought them a stuffed toy piggy and put a ribbon around it. Needless to say it featured in many of the photographs!

Ollie and Georgie
Tweet
I love being part of friend's weddings, it means I get to see all of the planning, the ideas and then the day where everything finally comes together to create a beautiful day.
When I talked with Georgie and Ollie, I loved the concept, very yorkshire with tea, whippets and flat caps. A lot of the finishing touches were hand made beautifully brought together with a deep green colourscheme.
Knowing them both, I knew it was going to be a fun wedding, and it was. The guests reflected the mood of the day with lots of laughing, dancing and drinking (of course!).
Georgie loved her dress so much that she spent most of the day twirling! So happy that I could be part of Ollie and Georgie's day.

Sugar and Vice - The Witching Hour
Tweet
I love working with Sugar and Vice!
I found them, like many, on instagram and was instantly drawn to their amazing and original designs. When they put out a call for a product photographer I obviously jumped at the chance. Over time I have seen the most gorgeous jewellery come through the studio, wanting to keep every piece!
Most recently, I shot not only the product photographs for their newest collection, “The Witching Hour”, but I was also hired to shoot promotional images with a model.
As the lovely Frankii Wilde was visiting at the time I couldn't resist using her in the images. The idea was a modern twist on a witch, taking influences from American Horror Story (mainly the huge hat!).
Such a simple set up, white wall, kick ass model and flash gun.
Can't wait to work on the next collection, I'm sure you'll love it as soon as you see it too! Check out their site and I guarantee you'll want to spend with them.

Marc and Laura - Simple and Stylish
Tweet
I've known Marc just over 12 years and Laura for 8 so imagine my surprise and excitement to find out that they were not only dating but engaged!
Catching up with them both was great, they wanted a small ceremony and reception so it was going to be a very relaxed affair.
The ceremony was lovely and funny then the reception was held at Laura's mum's house.
After such a relaxed day, the evening reception was something else. Loads of drinking and dancing
Such a wonderful day.

Barn and Aimee - Handmade Love
Tweet
At my first meeting with Aimee and Barn, the more they described their perfect wedding and I couldn't help but get excited about photographing it. There was a steampunk theme with elements of Assasins Creed with Alice in Wonderland and a secret woodland feel. Aimee was determined to make most of the elements of the wedding herself or source other parts through talented friends and family.
Following Aimee's updates leading up to the wedding was fantastic, chocolate skulls and buying trees, flavoured tea and boxes of wine.
Barn and Aimee completed the legal part of the marriage on the Friday in a small ceremony and then spent all of Friday afternoon and evening preparing the hall. Aimee's friends made an amazing job of dressing and lighting the hall. It was beautiful.
The morning of the wedding was quite hectic, final preparations of food and outfits but once the groom and groomsmen left for the venue, a nice calm spread over the house. Aimee got ready with the help of her bridesmaids and there was a beautiful moment while her mum helped her into the dress.
It was a beautiful day once we got to the Hoveringham Village Hall in Nottingham, the sun was shining and it was reflected in everyone's happy faces.
The ceremony was beautifully presided over by a friend of Aimee and Barn. I found out later that it was the first wedding ceremony that he had conducted but I couldn't tell at all.
The rest of the day was wonderfully fun, full of laughter. The evening brought cappoera, fire performers, glow sticks and lots of drinking.
I was lucky to be part of such a unique and wonderful handmade day.

The Pudding Pantry Nottingham
Tweet
If you know me at all, you'll know that I love coffee and cake.
My wonderful friends, Georgie and Amy joined up with another to provide the residents of Nottingham with amazing coffee and the kind of food that leaves you craving more. I had known Georgie was an amazing pastry chef and her sweets are amazing so I was so excited when she annouced she was opening a place of her own. I followed her on Pinterest and the more ideas and yummy recepies that she pinned, the more my tummy gurgled with anticipation.
What they have to say about themselves,
The Pudding Pantry brings together 3 friends with an insatiable desire to provide the kind of food and coffee that will keep you coming back. With all our cakes, puddings and desserts baked in house by our amazing pastry chefs and our artisan coffee made with expert knowledge and know-how, we want to show you how much we love what we do.
Conjuring up the delights of a French bakery and reminiscing over those days of licking clean the cake bowl, our aim is to create a haven and a buzz for those who enjoy good food and great coffee (and lets not forget the tea!)
Serving up breakfast, brunch, lunch and sweet treats, The Pudding Pantry is open to all those who get as excited by food as we do.
With a background in restaurants, coffee shops, hotels and hospitality, our combined experience allows us to bring to the table a plethora of knowledge and passion for all things food and drink. With our aim being to provide the very best that we can, we source local where possible and always strive to bring you the freshest ingredients. Creativity and excitement in all our food endeavours means you will always be in for a treat (quite literally)
Of course I've been in and visited a few times since then and I can testiment to the gorgeous coffee and the amazing food (especially the cake!).
A few weeks ago, I came across a job for a food photographer and quickly panicked. I have experience in food photography but I hadn't done any recently. So a quick text and I arranged to pop in the following morning to shoot some of their food and drinks for my portfolio and their website.
I'd like to give a huge thank you to everyone at The Pudding Pantry for letting me shoot and for your wonderful service every time I visit.
If these photos make you feel hungry just by looking at them you can visit them at 27/29 Trinity Square, Nottingham, NG1 4AF.

Kenton, Danielle and Babe the Wedding Pig
Tweet
When I met Kenton and Danielle for coffee the first time to talk about their wedding photography, we jelled straight away. As they described their little farmyard wedding to me I got so excited, then when they said they would be getting a little pig on a lead too I think I actually squealed a little.
After a little bit of a hiccup regarding the registry office, the big day arrived and ran smoothly with Danielle and Kenton looking amazingly relaxed. Any couple who high-five when they 're pronounced man and wife are definitely together forever!

Sam and Marthas Handmade Wedding
Tweet
Back in January, I had the pleasure of photographing Sam and Martha's wedding at the Donnington Park Farmhouse Hotel in Derbyshire.
There were so many beautiful handmade touches to the day, Martha's mum made the bouquets, the groom Sam made the wooden bowties and place settings and the bridesmaid Sophie made the cake. Such a lovely and fun couple!
