Pinups and Cars - Wayne and Lizzie
Tweet
I've known Lizzie for a while in her burlesque persona and she is a beautiful person inside and out. When she and her fiance Wayne asked me to photograph their wedding I knew it was going to be something special.
As well as Lizzie's love of vintage, they both love cars (Volkswagons specifically), Wayne works for a tool company and they both adore metal music.
I had the ever wonderful pleasure of working with Ms Moo Makeup and Lucille's Locks, we make great team on wedding days!
The ceremony and and reception were at the beautiful Breadsall Priory. We were able to get on top of one of the roofs for the group photos and for the couple portraits we were driven around in a golf cart, it was so much fun! The areas surrounding the Priory were beautiful and perfect for photographing. Wayne and Lizzie were absolutely amazing, there were tears, laughter and they embodied such a romantic love that was a sheer pleasure to capture.
Assisting was from the ever wonderful and amusing John/Spike from Vapour Trail Photography.

Reader I married him - Victoria and Jonathan
Tweet
Well this one has been a long time coming hasn't it?!
Part of the problem of why it takes me so long to blog about my wonderful clients is that I struggle so much to cut down the selection of images to share with you all. This wedding being absolutely no exception.
I absolutely loved Vic and Jonathan's wedding, the smiles and laughter seemed endless, the styling was GORGEOUS and the entire day just filled everyone's hearts with love. While the day was essentially small and intimate, it took in a lot of the surroundings of London and the people there. While photographing Jonathan getting ready, a taxi full of guests passed and hollered out of the window, the poor driver! When photographing Vic arriving at Islington Town Hall, we took a quick walk and the images seem just quintessentially "British" featuring a red phone box and the beautiful architecture. And of course when we left the ceremony, there was the big red London bus where we were all pressed up against the windows because Bill Oddie was attending the wedding after! The bus dropped us off at one end of the park in Stoke Newington which we all trooped through, the guests drinking prosecco, waving to those enjoying the park and petting dogs along the way.
The reception was in the Londsborough pub which was essentially their local. The dressing was fabulous, bunting and paper lanterns everywhere. We popped out the front of the pub to grab some shots of the bride and bridesmaids and got chatting on to a passerby on her way to a birthday party. At this point, I'm not entirely sure how, suddenly all of the bridal party are hula hooping with the hoops the passer by just happened to be carrying!
It's little things like this that you remember and will always bring a smile to your face and that's something to rememeber this Valentine's Day. The memories that you make always last the longest. Victoria and Jonathan are now expecting a baby, all of the love in the world to their little family!

Emma and Jon

Emma dropped me a message on my Facebook page to book a photoshoot with her husband Jon and their family.
I love photographing family portraits at Wollaton Hall. With the beautiful backdrop, I usually let the children run and play for a bit which gives amazing and natural smiles.

Weddings are a circus - Jeff and Katie
Tweet
I've held off on blogging this wedding for a while now but finally I can share with you Jeff and Katie's wedding!
We were waiting for it to be published on the famous Rock and Roll Bride blog, you can read more here.
Even though Katie Abey is based just outside of Nottingham, I was initially introduced to her work through Sugar and Vice who collaborated with her on an amazing collection based on her hand drawn characters.
Since then, we've met up, worked together and chatted lots and I've photographed most of the items she sells through her etsy store. Through this I met her fiance Jeff and I was over the moon when they hired me to photograph their wedding. I knew straight away that this was to be no ordinary wedding!
Jeff and Katie are both bright and colourful, and some of the most creative people I know. The wedding was held at Jeff's family home, which they had licenced for marriage specifically for their wedding. Wingfield Hall is beautiful with amazing grounds and views, but where would they have the reception? In a multi coloured circus tent of course!
Arriving on the big day, I could not help but run around and photograph all of the amazing details of the wedding right down to the very last pinwheel. It was one of the most fun wedding days that I have ever been part of, definitely not a day for black and white images. There is far too much to list so I'll shut up now and let the photographs do the talking!

Abigail Newborn Shoot
Tweet
For some reason, this time last year was a boom for newborn babies!
I popped over to see little newborn Abigail, who was just 8 days old at the time, to take some pictures of her settling into her new home with proud mum and dad.
Newborns are very sleepy at this stage so it's pretty easy to get images of them looking relaxed and content. As ever though, children dictate the photoshoot so there was some time with feeding and changing. Dad was determined to get a shot of her in his NFL Lions jersey though!
What a wonderful way to commemorate the birth of your tiny human!

Rob and Adele - Rock and Roll
Tweet
I met Adele in a pub in Nottingham on Halloween. My friend Ruby is originally from Liverpool and can hear a scouse accent from a mile away, so the two started talking. Fast forward and I received a message from Adele enquiring about my photography for her wedding with Rob.
On the day of the wedding, Tony and I travelled up to Liverpool and ended up getting changed in the toilets of the public library! It was a beautiful, sunny day and the sun glasses were out in force. I knew this was going to be a fun wedding but I didn't stop smiling and laughing all day.
The ceremony was lovely, themes of black and red with skulls, beautiful 50s swing dresses and leather trousers.
Rob and Adele wanted a relaxed and fun affair and the day was this to a tee. Lots of drinking, dancing and laughing into their new lives together.

Damien and Jo
Tweet
Back to blogging!
Keep yoour eyes peeled for all the catch ups from last year and leading into next but for now, let's begin where last year began with the lovely wedding of Damien and Jo!
Back in January last year finally came the big day for Damien and Jo, It had seemed like such a long time coming after our first meeting!
You might remember their engagement shoot which they used for their invites, and that was when it all started to get very exciting!
When the day came, Jo and Damien had chosen my largest package which meant including an assistant, John, to photograph the groom getting ready. I find that it means I get to to spend more time with the bride and the whole day is covered from pretty much every angle!
Obviously with it being January, there were concerns over the weather. It did rain a little bit but generally the day was dry if a little windy. I got to work with Ms Moo Makeup and Lucille's Locks again which is always a great team! We bounce off each other wonderfully and were all there to make the bride look and feel as great as possible. Jo started to get a little stressed the nearer it got to the ceremony so we even made her bounce on the bed to laugh and calm a little!
The ceremony and indeed the whole day reflected a cool, wintery and calm feeling with light blue colour scheme, fluffy coats, glittery shoes and cute little blue birds everywhere.
The evening was a fun and joyful time with a wonderful singer who had been an amazing master of ceremonies all day for us, there was lots of dancing, a caricaturist cotton candy. Kids and adults alike had the greatest time and what a great way to kick of a year of weddings!!

The Tweet heard round the world
Tweet
If you've landed here on my modest little wedding photography website you've probably done so because of a recent little tweet about Victoria and Jonathan...
So I woke up on Sunday afternoon, after a little cap nap, to find Victoria had tweeted the above, and it had all started to go a little nuts. I had photographed Vic and Jonathan's wedding the week before and, as you know my love for confetti shots, I sent her the above photo as a little sneaky peek.
A little back story, I've been friends with Victoria for years, and after a conversation a while into our friendship it turned out that we had met each other WAY before that at an Irish Dancing competition when we were both in our mid teens! We were the only two girls in our group and despite our dance teachers telling us we weren't allowed to talk to each other, we did anyway. Rebels already I know...
So, when Victoria announced her wedding I was positively jumping to photograph it! I hadn't met Jonathan but I knew Victoria enough to know it would be a fabulous day.
And there was no disappointment whatsoever.
Anyway, that's for a different blog, we're talking about trending...
So, why did this little cute story go viral? Well, in my opinion it's a real life love story, the kind that cynics believe only happens in movies, where the main characters have this amazing "meet-cute" and go on to live happily ever after. It has nothing to do with looks and everything to do with personality and how you portray yourself online, (a point which many Mail readers could learn from...) It's a love story for the modern, social media age and with all the horrible news that has befallen 2016, a little love can travel far.
And it did.
Yesterday, I spent 90% of it on my computer replying to emails, tweets and messages. This is the result!

BBC News
On top of that, AOL ran a weird little video, People Magazine have been in touch, blog enquiries and many other articles across the globe!
After all of this, I'd like to give a huge hug and thank you to all of my friends and family that have supported me, especially over the past couple of days. To everyone that sent me links and pictures, to my business besties that tagged me wherever they saw my image without credit and all those who are here with me during this incredible whirlwind.
The biggest thank you obviously goes to Victoria and Jonathan though. You guys are amazing, you've made so many people believe in love again and that, in itself, should be celebrated. All my love to you both.
