Pinups and Cars - Wayne and Lizzie
Tweet
I've known Lizzie for a while in her burlesque persona and she is a beautiful person inside and out. When she and her fiance Wayne asked me to photograph their wedding I knew it was going to be something special.
As well as Lizzie's love of vintage, they both love cars (Volkswagons specifically), Wayne works for a tool company and they both adore metal music.
I had the ever wonderful pleasure of working with Ms Moo Makeup and Lucille's Locks, we make great team on wedding days!
The ceremony and and reception were at the beautiful Breadsall Priory. We were able to get on top of one of the roofs for the group photos and for the couple portraits we were driven around in a golf cart, it was so much fun! The areas surrounding the Priory were beautiful and perfect for photographing. Wayne and Lizzie were absolutely amazing, there were tears, laughter and they embodied such a romantic love that was a sheer pleasure to capture.
Assisting was from the ever wonderful and amusing John/Spike from Vapour Trail Photography.

Martin and Aimie

This is another wedding that I assisted Tim Miles-Hayler on last December. It was a small relaxed affair at Thrumpton Hall just outside Nottingham.
The Hall is beautiful and the weather was surprisingly clear and warm for December.
For my first Christmas wedding it was wonderful.

Drew and Beth
Tweet
Sometimes marriage is a huge affair, but in the case of Drew and Beth, they didn't want all of the fuss and attention. So off they headed to to Barbados, and while the whole thing was gorgeous and beautiful, the photography didn't quite reflect their personalities.
As good friends of mine, when they got home I offered to shoot some wedding images for them more fitting to their lifestyle.
They're definitely different to the usual wedding images but perfect for them and so happy to be part of their marriage even if I wasn't there for the actual ceremony.

Matthew and Helen
Tweet
Oooops sorry everyone I've been away!
With my Christmas £20 offer and lots of client work it's been a busy time at Luna HQ and will only get busier before the year is out. But until then I still have a couple of weddings from earlier in the year to show you.
This wedding was another that I assisted Tim, which is becoming quite a frequent but lovely ocourence! We headed to the Bride first, covering the family getting ready. I made friends with the young flower girls (as usual) as one of them called me Ariel because of my red hair.
From there, we headed to the venue, it was raining a bit so Tim and I caught everyobe arriving umbrellas up and skirting puddles! I'm glad to say the rain didn't last all day.
The ceremony was super cute, it had a vintage village feel with bunting and flowers everywhere. The local church group band (which Matthew and Helen are part of) sang some lovely songs and hymns, the ceremony was even presided over by Matthew's father who later wrote and sang a song as part of his speech.
The rest of the day was loads of fun, lots of dancing, Matthew's band played in the evening while Tim and I manned the photobooth. A long day and lots of equipment to lug about (there always is with the photobooth!) but all in all another good one to add to the list!

Sugar and Vice - The Witching Hour
Tweet
I love working with Sugar and Vice!
I found them, like many, on instagram and was instantly drawn to their amazing and original designs. When they put out a call for a product photographer I obviously jumped at the chance. Over time I have seen the most gorgeous jewellery come through the studio, wanting to keep every piece!
Most recently, I shot not only the product photographs for their newest collection, “The Witching Hour”, but I was also hired to shoot promotional images with a model.
As the lovely Frankii Wilde was visiting at the time I couldn't resist using her in the images. The idea was a modern twist on a witch, taking influences from American Horror Story (mainly the huge hat!).
Such a simple set up, white wall, kick ass model and flash gun.
Can't wait to work on the next collection, I'm sure you'll love it as soon as you see it too! Check out their site and I guarantee you'll want to spend with them.

David and Jessica - Colwick Hall
Tweet
Another weekend, another wedding assisting Tim Miles-Hayler. This time it was the wedding of David and Jessica at Colwick Hall Hotel.
As usual, I was tasked with photographing the Groom and Groomsmen getting ready. David, bless him, was visibly nervous. After checking in with Tim, I joked with David that Jessica's dress hadn't arrived but withdrew almost instantly seeing the look of fear on his face!
I felt very comfortable once we arrived at Colwick Hall, having shot the wedding of James and Lisa there the year before, I knew my way round. It's a beautiful venue with a large, light and bright ceremony room and pretty gardens.
Tim will often rib me for using a Canon camera but as mine is newer than his Nikon the shutter is quieter so I usually take front of house during the ceremony. From this angle I got the perfect shot of David as he saw the stunning Jessica for the first time.
It was a gorgeous day so we took full advantage to shoot the group photographs and Bride and Groom portraits outside in the gardens. Tim had also shot David's brother's wedding there previously, so there was a portrait that needed to be done by the large tree in the garden as a tradition set by his parents before them.
All in all, a lovely, relaxed and beautiful day.

Trav and El - Spring in Leicester
Tweet
I'd been looking forward to photographing the wedding of El and Trav for a long time. These guys are great together, I even had a little cry when they said their vows!
Great friends and an amazingly fun wedding. Odes to Elvis, Stone Roses and the "Madchester" scene with hints of leopard print, a pink cadillac and a cheese cake!
Enjoy!
